Women's Initiative SPOTLIGHT Award

Dawn began her career as a bank staff appraiser developing experience in both residential and commercial work where she rose to VP/Appraisal Manager. She then formed her own appraisal review and consulting company, Molitor-Gennrich Consulting, providing litigation support and advisory services specializing in regulatory compliance.

Her Appraisal Institute service includes extensive involvement at the chapter, regional and national levels. Besides serving as the first female president of the Northern California Chapter, Dawn was a regional representative, a Government Relations Committee member, and served many years on national committees, specifically national Education. Dawn was an Appraisal Institute instructor and course developer. She also served on national committees focusing on residential appraising, admissions/qualifications and compliance. She is a past Appraisal Standards Board member where she assisted in development and dissemination of USPAP to appraisers and public users of appraisal services. In addition to her Appraisal Institute teaching, she instructed other users of appraisal services, was a speaker, reviewer and curriculum developer. She also served as assistant editor to the publication, National Real Estate Index.

Dawn developed and taught courses and seminars and was a much sought after Appraisal Institute instructor. She enjoyed teaching because – in her words – “It is a wonderful feeling to see someone you assisted and know you may have played a positive role in their career.” She also enjoyed teaching “because it gives you the opportunity to improve another person’s skills, which is good for our profession and our public trust image as appraisers.”

Dawn was a leader and a resource to her chapter and was held in great esteem across the country. She was committed to fairness, diversity and professionalism. She was visible and approachable. She held many leadership roles in the valuation profession, and she encouraged women to seek leadership roles. So many benefited from her positive energy and commitment to excellence and we are thankful for her service.
