Excel Applications for Valuation

• Create Excel worksheets and demonstrate basic formatting, math, and reporting functionalities.
• Solve problems using financial math functionality.
• Demonstrate how the Excel copy functionality is used with formulas and calculations.
• Use Excel functions and formulas to calculate the following:
• Adjusted price in adjustment grids
• Net and gross adjustment
• Market conditions adjustment
• Economic life
• Depreciation
• Loan constant
• Financial functions (PMT, PV, FV, RATE, NPER)
• Discount rate
• Present value and internal rate of return

Equipment:
Software required: Microsoft Excel 2010 or higher. Note: The course is designed for students to work along in an Excel workbook as they view the video instruction. Therefore, recommended equipment includes a computer with dual monitors, or at least a single large monitor that can be divided into two separate windows. The need to flip back and forth between video and the Excel templates on a small laptop monitor will increase the amount of time required to complete the course.
